Register an AI system and inspect its assessment
Document the system's purpose and operating context, then review the assessment information already recorded.
Before you start
Who this is for: Users with AI-system creation or read permission.
- Identify the AI system and check for an existing register entry.
- Prepare verified purpose, usage, data, and oversight information.
Follow these steps
Open registration
Go to Risk > AI Systems and choose the registration route. Enter Name and Purpose. Describe the actual use in your organization so reviewers can distinguish the system from another use of the same underlying model or provider.
Record governance context
Review Provider role and Risk classification, then expand Advanced AI governance fields for Intended use, Users, Data inputs, Data outputs, Model type, and Human oversight. Record transparency and monitoring requirements when known. These classifications are recorded judgments; selecting one does not establish legal compliance.
Create and inspect
Submit the form and open the AI system detail. Verify the lifecycle, risk class, owner, assessment status, and linked records. Check the system's purpose and operating context against your input before relying on it in another risk or control workflow.
Review assessment information
Open Assessments to inspect any recorded assessment title, status, findings, recommendations, and approval date. The reviewed detail displays existing assessments but does not provide a verified start-assessment editor. If none exist, ask the responsible administrator or support about the supported assessment process; registration alone does not create a completed assessment.
What you should see
The AI system is registered, and you can distinguish its inventory details from the actual recorded assessment state.
If something doesn’t look right
The assessment says Not started
No completed assessment is established by registration. Arrange the assessment through the supported process.
The owner is Unassigned
Ask an administrator to verify responsibility and available assignment options for the workspace.
You are unsure about classification
Record the uncertainty and have the appropriate internal reviewer determine it. The product field is not a substitute for that decision.
