Evidence & documents
Upload and submit evidence
Save a file, link, or text artifact and confirm its relationship to the intended request.
Before you start
Who this is for: Contributors with evidence-creation permission.
- Prepare an appropriate artifact and confirm the organization.
- For requested evidence, open the request first so its context is carried into the form.
Follow these steps
Open the evidence form
From an evidence request, choose Add evidence. For an eligible document test, use its Supply evidence workflow or Open full evidence form. Starting from the request makes it easier to preserve the intended relationship and review context.
Enter the artifact details
Provide Title and Description. Choose Type, then supply the required File, Link URL, or Content. Enter Expires at when the evidence has a defined validity period. Describe the population and period the artifact supports so the reviewer can assess its relevance.
Submit and watch the result
Choose Submit evidence and wait for the saved result. Uploading can involve saving a file, creating an evidence record, and attaching its version to a request. Read any error message to identify which stage needs attention; do not assume the first successful stage completed the entire workflow.
Verify the exact version
Open the saved evidence and return to the request if applicable. Check that the intended version appears with its submission status. A submitted artifact still needs the applicable independent review. Requirement acceptance is also recorded separately from approval of the artifact.
What you should see
The evidence record is saved, and a request-based submission can be verified against the exact version.
If something doesn’t look right
The artifact was saved but attachment failed
Use Retry attachment and Open saved artifact when offered. This preserves the upload and avoids making duplicate evidence records.
The reviewer cannot use the file
Check the selected file, scan or availability state, expiration, and the reviewer's permitted access.
The evidence is not approved
Submission is not an approval action. Ask the appropriate independent reviewer to inspect the artifact and requirement.
