Risk management
Map and preview risk-import columns
Review column destinations and validated rows before approving creation of risk records.
Before you start
Who this is for: Users with risk-import and required risk permissions.
- Prepare a supported risk-register file and confirm the target organization.
- AI mapping is optional and depends on the organization's enabled features and your permissions.
Follow these steps
Upload for preview
Open the risk import page, select the Risk register file, and choose Preview import. The preview creates a reviewable import job. Read the file name and row counts before proceeding so you know which upload you are reviewing.
Map the columns
In Column mapping, choose each source column's destination manually. Use Ignore this column for fields you intentionally omit. If available, Analyze with AI can suggest mappings; inspect every suggestion because similarly named columns may have different business meanings.
Preview mapped rows
After changing destinations, choose Preview mapped rows. Review valid and invalid counts, duplicates, warnings, and excluded rows. Inspect normalized values, especially risk titles, category, likelihood, impact, and treatment data. Correct row issues or exclusions and save edits before attempting the final import.
Approve the reviewed rows
Confirm the mapping is reviewed, no blocking errors remain, and the intended rows are selected. Choose Approve and import. Check the final created count and saved job outcome. The workflow records duplicates in history and skips them; do not assume every uploaded row became a new risk.
What you should see
The approved, validated rows are imported, with a job result that distinguishes created, duplicate, and excluded records.
If something doesn’t look right
Analyze with AI is unavailable
Continue with manual mapping, or ask an administrator about AI capability and permission. AI is not required for the workflow.
Approve and import is disabled
Resolve blocking validation, save column mapping with Preview mapped rows, finish row edits, and confirm selected rows.
The imported count differs from the file
Review duplicates, exclusions, and validation outcomes in the job before retrying or uploading again.
