Frameworks, controls & tests
Enable a framework and select its scope
Create organization-specific implementation work from an available framework and review scope before enabling it.
Before you start
Who this is for: Users with framework-enablement permission, usually workspace administrators or authorized compliance managers.
- Confirm the organization and agreed framework version.
- For SOC 2, agree on the Trust Services Criteria before enabling the framework.
Follow these steps
Find the framework
Open Compliance > Frameworks. Use Available to browse the catalog, then Review and enable, or choose Add framework. Read the name and version carefully. A catalog entry describes the source framework; enabling it creates work for your organization.
Review the source
Choose Resguarda catalog for an available template. The screen previews its domains and requirements. Custom framework is a separate route for an organization-owned definition; use it only when you intend to maintain that custom scope.
Review the scope
For SOC 2, select the appropriate Trust Services Criteria categories. At least one is required. The current interface states that changing this selection later is not supported, so resolve scope questions before continuing. Other templates show their scope preview.
Enable and inspect
Choose Enable framework and wait for confirmation. Return to the active framework and inspect the generated organizational controls. Assignments, implementation notes, status, and evidence belong to the organizational work after enablement. Enabling a framework does not itself prove that its controls are implemented.
What you should see
The framework appears among active organizational frameworks with its selected implementation scope.
If something doesn’t look right
The framework is not in Available
Clear filters and check Active; it may already be enabled. Ask an administrator if the expected catalog version is absent.
The enable action is hidden
Confirm framework-enablement permission with your administrator.
The chosen scope was wrong
Stop before creating more work and contact your administrator or support. Do not assume the SOC 2 category selection can be edited later.
