Connections
Connect a provider and select scope
Authorize the intended provider account, choose resources, and check the setup result.
Before you start
Who this is for: Administrators with integration-configure permission and appropriate provider-side authority.
- Review the provider's requested access and confirm the intended external account.
- Use the setup exposed in your workspace; availability depends on provider configuration.
Follow these steps
Start the provider wizard
Open its Catalog detail and Continue to connection setup. Follow the provider-specific authorization instructions shown. Confirm the external organization, tenant, installation, or account before granting access. Do not enter provider credentials into the public help chat.
Verify the binding
After authorization, check the account identity recorded by the connection. Make sure it is the account your organization intends to use. If the identity is wrong, stop and resolve it with your administrator. Reconnecting restores access to the same account; changing accounts requires a separate connection.
Choose discovered resources
In Resources in scope, select the discovered resources you want to include. Choose specific account, repository, directory, or other resource identities offered by the provider. If the list only shows categories or no selectable resources, complete the validation step and check provider access before continuing.
Review and check the connection
Choose Continue to review. Check the account, Authorized and Active counts, cadence, and any setup warnings. Choose Open connection to inspect its current status and runs. If Cutover gate shows unfinished work, ask your administrator to complete activation before relying on the connection’s data in tests or inventory.
What you should see
The connection has a reviewed identity and scope, or a clearly identified validation or activation step still needs completion.
If something doesn’t look right
Authorization is denied or expires
Restart through the authorized setup path and confirm provider permissions. Use the correct provider account.
A binding mismatch appears
Do not force another account into the same connection. A different external subject requires a new connection.
No resources can be selected
Check validation output and provider access. A resource category alone is not a selectable account or resource. Ask the connection administrator to resolve missing discovery results.
