Audits
Create an audit engagement
Define an audit period and framework scope before inviting reviewers or preparing its evidence room.
Before you start
Who this is for: Users with permission to create audit engagements.
- Enable the frameworks that belong in the audit.
- Agree on the period, access timing, and any narrower control scope.
Follow these steps
Start the engagement
Open Audits > Engagements and choose the creation action. Enter a clear Name and optional Description for the internal owners and assigned auditors. Use wording that distinguishes the audit from other engagements for the same framework.
Set the dates
Enter Audit period start and Audit period end. Set Auditor access date when access should begin on a different date; otherwise the form defaults it to the period start. Review these dates with the engagement owner before inviting external participants.
Select the scope
Choose Frameworks in scope and review the available control-scope options. Selected controls must belong to the chosen frameworks. At least one framework is required. Scope influences what the engagement and its auditors can access, so use the agreed audit boundaries.
Create and review the workspace
Choose Create engagement. Inspect its dates, framework and control scope, evidence room, documents, and auditor section. Complete preparation through the available actions. Scope becomes locked when the engagement is active, so resolve mistakes while the engagement is still in its editable planning state.
What you should see
The engagement has explicit dates and scope, ready for authorized evidence preparation and auditor assignment.
If something doesn’t look right
No framework can be selected
Enable the appropriate organization framework first or ask an authorized administrator to do so.
Create engagement is disabled
Select at least one framework and complete the required dates and name.
Scope is locked
Inspect the engagement state and involve its owner. Do not assume an active engagement can be widened through a different page or invitation.
